I've seen the signs so many times driving through the area but hadn't been able to stop. I made a point to finally stop and see the museum. I so glad I did. It was inexpensive but immensely fun. It challenges your notions of history bu asking "What if..." They create a story that works with displays making easy to caught up in a mini adventure. I will spoil that they make you think about some of the mysteries of conspiracy theories in history. It doesn't take long to go through, but then the gift shop and restaurant will take some time to. If you are passing by, stop and give yourself at least an hour to check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. The staff there is help and efficient. They made me feel like a friend or family. I left feeling fantastic at some time and money well spent.
Super fun, each year its a tradition to stop by here and each year it has evolved to be great! You can't miss it! Its a great place to take photos and the dairy queen on the inside is a great for a little sweet stop on any road trip.
While visiting in Tucson we saw the signs for "The Thing?". It was driving us nuts, WHAT IS IT! So we drove around 40 minutes outside Tucson to see what this museum was all about. My son loved it! Dinosaurs, aliens, history, cars... What was not to like? We are happy we made the drive to see The Thing at the end and the museum. The souvenir shop was a good find too!
Great rest stop. If you are looking for a fun place to stop and stretch your legs this place is a must! And don't skip out on going through the museum; it's $5 per person and sooo worth it... trust me! It will give you something to talk about in the car! ;)
I love this place. Its everything you can ask for in a good old roadside tourist trap. Nice store, clean bathrooms and the mystery of the desert! Its really cheap to go in so i feel like you get so much for your money. We stop when we can. Its a nice spot to stretch your legs.
